At Beyond Dog Training Auburn, the welfare and safety of you, your family, and your dog is the priority.  This is why our first step is ALWAYS addressing the physical and mental health and welfare of your dog.  This critical first step includes:

- Possible recommendation of vet check to identify pain or disease

- Implementation of management techniques to keep everyone safe and stress free

- Calmness plan utilizing natural behaviors to decrease stress and increase calm

- Identification of fear and stress triggers and implementation of a plan to address them

**In order to focus on your dogs mental and physical welfare and safety, all of our methods and training techniques are fear-free and pain-free.  This means that we will never use or recommend aversive techniques or tools including but not limited to: 

Physical force such as pushing, hitting, or dominance holds

prong collars, e-collars, choke chains, slip leads, and others

spray bottles, shaker cans, yelling, scary noises

Coping with the human world requires more than just sit and stay.  Our training approach uses engaging play and game based training techniques to teach our dog important skills that are often overlooked.  The ability to disengage from interesting or worrying things, know how to calm themselves down, be confident in novel situations, and stay relaxed amid distractions are just a few of the skills that we can teach our pups while playing games, while developing our relationship and building trust at the same time!

Finally, we take all of the amazing new skills and concepts you and your dog have learned and create a very specific plan to use them reliably in real life situations where you need them the most!
